The Intersection of Technology and Faith: The Rise of AI

The Intersection of Technology and Faith: The Rise of AI
The rise of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), adds a new layer of complexity to the world. The rapid advancements in AI and the increasing control over data have raised alarms across many sectors of society. Governments and corporations now have access to vast amounts of personal data—information that could be used to influence political decisions, control economic resources, and even monitor the activities of citizens. This technological shift raises fundamental questions about autonomy, sovereignty, and power.
AI is already changing how we interact with the world. From personalized recommendations on social media to sophisticated surveillance systems, technology is shaping how we live, work, and think. But as AI continues to grow, the potential for abuse increases. Just as Israel and Palestine fight for control of land, so global powers fight for control over data and technology. In the context of biblical prophecy, many prophecy scholars see the rise of AI and the growing centralization of power as a precursor to the global system described in Revelation. In Revelation 13, it speaks of a time when a global leader will have control over all buying and selling—an economic and political system that requires total submission. While it is not clear how AI will fit into this prophecy, there are concerns that AI could be used to monitor, control, and even manipulate populations on a global scale.
This scenario may seem far-fetched to some, but for those who take the Bible seriously, the technology of today may be the very mechanism that enables the fulfillment of prophetic warnings. The control of land and data, the struggle for sovereignty, and the increasing power of global authorities all point to a world where human autonomy could be at risk.

The Call to Prayer and Action
In light of these issues—both spiritual and technological—what can we do? The Bible calls believers to pray for those in authority, that they may make decisions that lead to peace and godliness (1 Timothy 2:1-2). As we face the challenges of today, including the rise of AI, prayer becomes an essential part of our response. Through prayer, we acknowledge that while we cannot control the future, we trust in God's sovereignty over all things. We must also pray for wisdom for global leaders who are shaping the future of technology, that they would seek ethical solutions that honor freedom and dignity.
Prayer, however, is not just about asking for peace; it is about aligning our hearts with God's will. It is about trusting that His plan is bigger than any geopolitical conflict or technological advancement. As we pray, we are reminded that God has already outlined a future in which His kingdom will one day come to this earth, after the rapture of the church age saints and the seven-year tribulation period, when the Lord Jesus will reign with a rod of iron during the millennial kingdom (Rev. 20:1-7).

Conclusion: Navigating a Complex World with Faith
Israel’s land disputes, biblical prophecy, and the rise of AI are not isolated issues—they are part of the same global story. Each of these elements speaks to a larger question of control, sovereignty, and identity. As Christians, we are called to engage with these issues, not just from a political or technological perspective, but with a deep understanding of God's plan for the world.
In a time of unprecedented technological advancement and geopolitical upheaval, it is more important than ever to ground ourselves in faith, and biblical literacy. While the future may seem uncertain, we can trust that God is sovereign over all things, including the future of Israel, the rise of AI, and the ultimate fulfillment of His promises.
As we pray and act, may we remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that the challenges we face today are part of a greater picture—one that is unfolding according to God's perfect plan. Here we stand. We cannot, we must not, be moved!
